Did you clean the tank before you started driving it again? Everything could be pluged up too. There might be gas in the filter but none getting thru.

The degree marks are on the harmonic balancer but are very hard to see on old or dirty balancers. I had to crawl under the car and have the engine bumped a few times to be able to see them. Then I had to use white paint to remark them so that I could see them with the timing light. I would start with rebuilding the carb. A 10 year old carb just sitting will have dried out gaskets and o-rings.

You say your getting spark, but how much? if its just a little, you should take off your distributor cap and try to turn it over, if the rotor does not spin then your down on your cam probably snaped, but if it does spin your problem is porbably carb related.
