normally if you go to traffic shool before the ticket hits your record it will not lower the insurance hikes sine the school will deduct the current points from your license

I am not going to fight it. I ran a sign @ 20 mph, even I know I don't deserve to get out of this one lol.

Lmao, where am I looking for mercy? Mabe re-read my previous post.
And every time I ran it, I would try (but obviously failed this time) to look behind me, ahead of me, and down side streets before commiting. I would never do it if there was immediate traffic. So I was being responsibly irresponsible . .

hey 350,
Dont take it personally. When people get really fired up about something like that, I always ask myself why. And it doesnt take long to think how many people have lost loved ones due to the simple carelessness of others.

When I was in high school, my buddy (not a close friend...more like an acquaintance) who was a very reckless driver...far worse than running stop signs.... was driving his jacked up blazer like an idiot like he always did and hit a car head on, killing the driver. He said that he was avoiding a deer but I know that the truth is that he was playing chicken with other drivers because that is how stupid this guy was. He killed someones husband, father, friend. And it just blew my mind that he never faced any consequences from this. I never understood how he seemed to be so non chalant about it but I know he kept it bottled up inside him somewhere.

I have no idea where he is now but I can only imagine that the path he was on was going nowhere fast.

Where was I going with this.... I dont see any point to get on here and call you a jerk for your bad driving habits. Where I live, if you run stop signs, you are guaranteed to hit someone. But maybe where you live, you can see for 300 yards in all directions as you approach a stop sign. I guess in this American society, where most people abide by the laws, it is easy to say that is what we should do. If this were rural Italy or Mexico, stop signs are merely a suggestion and the road mortality rate is far greater than here in the US. But we make up for it with our gun laws. Haha
okay enough.
ciao!
hasta luego!

So I got my first ticket this morning. I was on my way to school, traffic/pedestrians are nonexistent, residential area. Long story short, got pulled over for running a stop sign at 20 mph >_<

Question: The 'ticket' he gave me is labeled as a 'notice to appear' and there is no price written on the form. I need to appear at the court hub (or whatever it is) on or before a date 2 months from now. So, what does this mean? 1.Will they assign a ticket value apon my appearance? 2.Is my insurance monthly gauranteed to rise? 3.Also, should I try to take traffic school before my appearance, or does it not matter if it is after my appearance date?

Conclusion:The gas money I have saved over the past 2 months by traveling that route twice a day, running the same 3 stop signs within a mile of each other, will probably be more than the cost of the ticket. However, the rise in insurance will definately kill me.

Will I need a lawyer for my appearance?
Ever think of traffic school?Price of the ticket is never written on the ticket. It comes in teh mail along with traffic school info (if eligible). If you've never gotten a ticket before you are probably fine. While ticket school can be expensive, it's still cheaper than an insurance rate hike for 3-5 years.
My traffic school was only 30 bucks. And i can take it every 18 months to remove 1 point.

I once ran a stop sign on my bicycle at night without any lights on the bike. I got a ticket for running the stop sign, speeding, and not having a light on my bike. I was really nice to the cop but he definately woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day and I paid for it. We all make mistakes when we are young. The key is to learn from these mistakes and not make them again. Good luck with the judge.

Well it has changed me. I may be giving up on changing my pewny inline 6 out for a 302 now. All these people are beefing up their engines when I know most of them are just racing around on the streets . .

Every state is different, so you can pretty much ignore anything said about "points" or driving classes or whatever that was posted by someone not in your state.

As a general rule, you should always call the court ASAP and find out how they usually handle things and choose from the options they give you.

If that was an good idea at that intersection they would have put up aYEILD sign instead of aSTOP sign...and hadI been driving through that intersection and you hit me, the ticket you got and the lawsuit I put on your widow and your estate would have been the least of your problems
