I am running Wildwood on my 68. They look nice through the Cragars too. Don't forget that you will need to have at least a 15" rims to clear the new calipers on your new brakes. 14 inch rims won't fit anymore.

some 14" will fit, but it's close. Your styled steel 14" ones defenitely won't fit.

I used http://www.chockostang.com/for my drum-to-disc conversion.

Something else to consider is your brake pedal. Manual and power pedals are different, and its not just the pad on the pedal. The rod connecting the booster to the pedal is different, so the entire pedal needs to be switched.

When I bought my kit from chockostang, he offered to sell me an SSBC brand booster. That booster comes with an adjustable rod, eliminating the need to replace the pedal. So I wound up with factory original calipers and rotors, but an aftermarket booster. I'm not sure if the master cylinder is original.

Yep, that's one of the reasons why I went with the Scarebird kit. The calipers fit inside my stock 14" steel wheels. And, of course, the 6 cyl. 4 bolt pattern matched.

One thing to consider, is if you plan on putting a potent engine in the car and racing(drag or road) the brakes that'll fit inside a 14" wheel generally aren't gonna be enough to stop you

Thank you ALL for all the suggestions. This definitely gets me going in the right direction. I couldnt get http://www.discbrakeswap.com/ to work.... Not sure why. Do I have the right address?

Just FYI, I am running a 347 stroker and have 17x7 Vintage 45's on the front and 17x8 on the rear.

I really like the look of the Cobra brakes on blueovalboyz ride. Also, I checked out your other pics and it looks like you have done a lot of work under the hood. Looks great!

Thank you everyone for all the ideas here. I will keep you posted.

Your 17s will help with the Mustang Steve setup since they're 13" rotors I believe so it gives you the room you need. Are you going to go with a rear setup as well or just front discs for now? I love the fact you're running a 347, I would love to, but cant afford to.

Thanks, yea I believe you can get the kit without COBRA stamped on the caliper if you want. I just decided to get those and go with the cobra center cap for my bullitts.

Well that is actually the third engine that has been in that car. Originally I6-200ci, then went to a used 302, which unsurprisingly blew up on me, now I have a solid 302 built by a machine shop back where I'm from with roughly 9.0:1 compression and just put in an AOD. Its been a chore, but its worth it. Sorry for the little story.

I dont mind stories... I am always rambling on about somethin myself! Damn 3 engines... that is somethin I really hope to avoid but you have apparently been a champ and stuck with it! And you got somethin sick under the hood now!

Yeah I like the 347 a lot, but it wasnt my doing. When I was looking for a Mustang, I was lookin for 65-69, preferably 67-68. I am not the most mechanically inclined person around so I was more concerned with mechanicals than looks. I was on the verge of buying a 66 that was all outfitted for racing with a rebuilt 302 and supercharger I think it was.... But at the last minute I saw this one on Craigslist (I am lucky enough in the greater SF Bay Area to have lots of classic Mustangs to choose from...) up near Santa Rosa and it looked sick and had the 347 which I knew little about. I called the guy and made arrangements to see it that same day. I just had a feeling (I am a terrible impulse shopper) and showed up with a cashiers check in hand ade out to the guy just in case I had to take it home. We took it for a spin and I couldnt let it go---had to have it.
So I dont know if you saw the pics of before and after the S-hood addition but that was my first big project. I have been reading here about how the best order to do things is Safety-Engine-Performance or somthin along those lines... oops. I do have custom 3 point seatbelts on order and am installing airbags soon (jus kidding!!!) but yeah I do have safety in mind. I did think about getting a roll bar but that is way off on the horizon.
The brakes are the big thing I want to get squared away. How do you like the AOD? That would be nice. I have a C4 (which I really dont know much about) and a 9" rear end. The tranny and rear endwere rebuilt in 03 at the same time the 347 kit and all the works were dropped in. A previous owner dropped $8k on the engine etc in 03 and it all has only about 18k miles on it. Not bad. I hope that with proper care and not working her too hard that I will get some tens of thousands of miles..... maybe 50k, maybe 100k? before any major probs come up.
I have no idea what to expect. All I know at this point is the basics checking fluids regularly, keeping an eye on temp, not much else. Its a little embarassing to admit it and I wish I had a buddy or the old man who knew sh@t about thse cars. All I have ever had is later model Jeeps and a newer Volvo. Never had to do much but change the oil and get warranty work done at the dealership.

Okay now who is telling stories!?!?! Gotta stop. If you have read all this, I am impressed. Thanks! BTW, I like the Cobra stamp. Unfortunatley looks like Mustang Steve is temporarily sold out of the 13 kit.... Its all good tho I am not in a big hurry. Sometime I will have to make sure I am really clear about what I need to order cause it looks like you get to keep your drums in there somehow... I dont even know the proper terminology of all the brake components!!! Total newbie! Cheers!

Oh yeah, I am just planning on doing the front for now. Dont see a real reason to do all 4's right now... unless someone was willing to convince me otherwise... Late!
