Default Drip rail chrome

Does any one have any suggestions on how to put new drip rail chrome on fresh painted 66 coupe? Special method or tool?

Don't use tools, you might ruin the new driprails. Start with the top side of the drip rail, hook the moulding over it and then using the palm of your hand snap the bottom in place.Be sure it's in the correct position and all bends are lined up where they need to be. If you have too much paint build up on the drip rails it will be harder to get them snapped into place.

Be sure to tape up your car body where the ends of the drip rail molding may cause great sadness by gouging your paint. Good luck with the repop moldings. I have a souvineer set on my shelf and the slightly dented originals back on the car. No amount of beer and cursing could pursuade the repops on, even after I sanded most of the paint off the drip rails.

Good luck installing your drip rails. I'm just finishing putting my 66 coupe back together after paint and body work. The guy that helped with my bodywork, who had 35 years experience told me to leave the drip rails on the car. They are a real pain to put back on the car. I'm glad I took his advice. The front and back window trim was a big enough pain getting back onto the car. Good luck again.

I left mine off. All it does is collect dirt and moisture and cause rust. I'd remonve the drip rail except I can't stand water falling on my head.

I reinstalled mine after paint last fall, work carefully & use a rubber mallet, or the heel of your hand, to gently strike.
The chrome starts on one edge, and sorta wraps around the drip rail. Place the chrome strip in place to fit the drip rail then work from the middle to each end. Taping the loose end is a real good idea. While first attempting to install the drivers side, the chrome "got away" and scratched the dash paint. Ahhh Dang!!
Just take your time, its not impossible.
