Default GT40-P Headers on a classic???

I was wondering if anyone here might know where I could find a set of GT40-P headers that fit the early models? I have tried numerious vendors and all say the same thing. "We used to have those" or "You have to get them custom made." Somehow I know there is a company out there that makes these headers. I have a 68 coupe that I am restoring and this is the only part that keeps me from firing up the engine. Thanks!!!
Wes

Are GT40-P heads much different than other small block heads, bolt pattern etc?

This is really the best site for info on the GT40-P heads. Loads of info about them. Only problem is they don't really talk about these heads in the early model stangs. It seems only a select few use the heads for this application.

By the time you get an exhaust system to work...you could buy some good old standard aluminum heads with known header fitments....

If you could get a 5.0 head to fit your engine, then there are all kinds of GT40-P headers for the 79's and up. Personally, I use JBL Shorty ceramic coated headers, and was quite pleased how they increased the HP on my 289.

Well having a 68 the 79 and up headers don't really work for me. I already bought a set of Mac Shorties for 79-92 and didn't have any luck. So after about 3 days of searching I ran across centralcoastmustang.net who just so happens to sell a set of
long tube headers for the GT40-P heads for years 65-70
. I have ordered a set and should have them by fri this week. I hope they fit. If they don't fit anyone want a set of New GT40-P heads in exchange for something equivalent?

Well you wanted to know how it went so here it is....

I got the new headers in on monday and I couldn't be happier with them, ok well I guess I could be a lilttle bit happier. The headers fit almost perfect only problem is that where the 2 y's meet they touch the trans bellhousing. I don't really see this as a problem since the engine, trans and headers all move as one unit. What concerns me it the vibrations causing the bellhousing to rub a hole in them. I have no clue as to how to fix this issue nor do I know if I should even be worried about it. The only other complaint I have is the 3rd primary on the driver side makes it a lil hard to get the spark plug in. Well here a some pics to look at:

BTW these are made by centralcoastmustang.com Part #CCM-6570

Rubbing solution = grinder
Remove some material, but not too much. 1/8" clearance should be fine...

Yeah that's what I was thinking only thing is that means I have to spend another hour taking the bolts off the headers so that get clearance for a grinder
