Default Pitman Arm hitting new Headers ?

Just installed new Tri-y Headers but when I turn hard left the Pitman Arm hits them. I figured that I am about 1/3 of a turnshort on the steering wheel compared to turning right..Is there anything I can . Any suggestion would be a help. It seems when ever I do something to this car ( 67 Coupe , 289, C4)it leads to something else wrong to fix.

I wonder how far the pitman arm encroaches on the header tube? If it is like a 1/2" or so I would just dimple the header..... nothing really lost in that exercise....

Sometimes the simple solution is the best solution.... when the simple solution actually works of course....

Thanks . How do I go about dimpling it or is it better to take it to a shop.

I used a rock to dimple the bottom of my headers[:@] It was not on purpose though.

If and when you hammer, use the ball end of a ballpeen so you don't create any sharp edges or rip into the offending tubes.

You need to change the pitman arm . You need a GT350 pitman arm , thats why I went with the shorty heeders , at the time now I wish I would've just changed the pitman arm , I would rather have the tri y heeders
