I've got everything put back together but when I go to start it up the fan spins but she just won't start. Gas is getting into the carb, it's got all new sparkplus and wires. I have no idea whats wrong any ideas?

Stick your tongue on the end of the plug wire and hold your finger to the plug, then crank the engine j/k. Pull a wire, have someone crank the engine and hold the wire close to the fender well or something that's ground, like a half inch gap. You should see the spark jump. What works is get a plastic handled screwdriver, put the business end in the plug wire and hold the screwdriver shaft at about the halfway point to a ground source. That way the current goes through the first half of the screwdriver and to ground, and you're fine. Don't let your had get between the plug wire end and the ground, or you're in for a shock. You should see a nice blue spark

I just held the spark plugs next to my brace in the engine bay and found my spark I would also remove the middle spark plug frim your distributor that way the engine wont try and start either. BTW the spark wont kill you but it DOES hurt. just hold the rubber end. I had the middle wire from the dist and one of my plug wires and I lost track of the plug wire and got my shock. Of course that was after my flamethrower was in. Live and learn.

The "middle wire" is the coil wire, disconnecting it will ensure NO spark.

Not sure what everything back together means but 9of 10 times, the dist has been mis-installed and the engine is "out of time"

How would I know if it is out of time?

it won't start andcranks like it either wants to start or just spins freely. You also may have flooded the engine and removalof the plugs may be necessary cause they're now fuel fouled.

I think it's out of time so what should be my next step?
