A 428 would do the trick. I would say it would give it a good stance.
I was thinking you could use an anvil as a hood ornament if you don't want to go to the trouble of dropping in that 428.

Remember, a set of springs with a 1 inch drop is actually going to drop your car 2 1/2" in the front since its an inch drop from stock height. Seems you need it though..

Nassau, with the wife on the front, what was the back measurement
did you get a pic of the whole car side on?

as baddog said, those lowering springs will drop the front 2"+ from where it is now.

With the wife on the front fender, was the overall stance what you are looking for? - iebum up, level, bum down?

What about the height overall - sitting up too high or ok to you (dont worry about what everyone else thinks, you're the one who has to clear the road obstacles in your area)

I didn't measure the rear wheel with her sitting on it. She's mad at me at the moment, so another measurement will have to wait.

I can't imagine why....didn't your interal danger sensors go off before you actually said, "hey honey come sit on my front bumper, I want to measure how much the car sags with your weight on the front end"?

I can't stress enough that I was NOT stupid enough to say, "Honey, I need some dead weight on the front of the car.... can you go sit on it?". I told her what the experiment was and she volunteered to sit on it.

She's on a whole different level of mad.

The 1" Shelby drop doesn't lower the car 1". It lowers the mounting point of the UCA. The spring sits half way between the mounting point and the ball joint (approx.). It will lower the car slightly but not a full inch. I have a 67 that was a 289. The stock 40 year old springs in the front still sat too high in my opinion after a I stuffed a 429 (major heavy) and the 1" Shelby drop. So I cut half a coil off (with a cut-off wheel, not a torch). I have the 5 leaf Grab-a-Track standard eye rear springs. Now the rear sits too high but I like the front.

I have the opposite problem (don't mean to steal your topic)...

My question is that after the new suspension and leafs were installed, the car seems to sit a bit high...

Is this normal? Will it settle down a bit after riding it for a while?

Or is the stance ok and it's just my paranoid nature?

Thanks fellow stangheads!!!

P.S. Here are more pictures of my undercarriage:
