Default Rear End Bearings... help!

My husband and Iremoved the axles from my 67's 8 inch rear end and had the bearings removed and replaced. The problem is the new bearings don't fit into the axle housing. Diameter wise they're fine. It's the depth. The new bearings are a hair over 21 mm and the housing depth (the first section for the bearing) appears to be about 17.5 mm or so. The part number on the bearings RW2007CCRA appears to be correct for an 8 inch Ford rear end as does the width. But when we put the axles back in, the bearings stick out about an 1/4 of an inch or so. Then of course the plate won't bolt flat to the housing. Is there something we're missing here??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This was supposed to be a simple process.....

Take the old bearings back to the place that pressed on the new bearings and tell them to find the bearings that match the old one. Maybe the rearend was replaced at some point in its life.......

Well, RW207CCRA (not 2007) is the correct part number, but I'm assuming that's a typo because 2007 isn't a valid part number. You're sure the axles are in as far as they can go? The width of the bearings should be 0.8449".

The bearings are .8449 in, the problem is the housing is about 1/4 in not wide enough....
Any help is greatly appreciated.

don't think anything wrong with the bearings or housing ,
i am doing the 8" rear end of my 66 mustang and you have the right bearings.. mine are 21.42 mm ( the old ones as well as the new ones .. and the outer inside space where the bearing goes in the axle house is 17.48 mm deep.

I have to ask it.
Are the bearing retainers on the wrong side of the bearing?
Those are about 1/4" thick or so.
