Default best bang for your buck ?

So what heads do you think give you the best bang for your buck .

Combos for internals and engine and all of that sort , But i heard parting it out to only what you want is the best way to do it .

I remember reading on MF that Patriot heads are new and very good .

But i dont know what to look for .

later 302 block is what its going into.

AfR 165's, Eddy Performers or Perf RPM's. Good bang for the buck is GT40's, won't make the same power as the aluminum ones, but don't spend as much money, either

the biggest bang for your dollar would be to get gears and make sure the car hooks up nice

its not so much an increase in hp because you will still have driveline losses reagardless. but the car will plant the *** and take off like a shot, not up in smoke and that makes it faster, obviously

the suspension is key in many ways, its useless to have 600 hp and this and that if you've got tires that dont hook and just spin

You can get a nice set of FoMoCo SVO heads for decent money. Good streetable power and that oh so important factory Ford engineering.

You can get the aluminum versions of the GT40 head or lose your mind and get those X303 heads, ( I think that is what they are called). In any event, all of the Ford heads are comparable in price to their aftermarket counterparts.

But that aftermarket heads make more power

And gearing makes a HUGE difference in power at the wheels. It's gear multiplication. A 4.00 gear will make 33% more power at the wheels than a 3.00 gear. Dynos don't measure actual torque at the wheels, but through a series of calculations determine the "power at the wheels" after drivetrain loss as it relates to engine power. In reality you're making several thousand ft-lbs at the wheels in 1st gear, less in 2nd, less in 3rd etc. Gearing will bump that power up with lower gears, but you need the rpm range in the engine to match it and have the right power/speed in gear
