Pink resistor wire from ignition switch, to firewall junction plug needs to be by passed. It steps down the voltage the coil sees to 9v. By passing or just running a jumper wire along with it will give your coil full voltage.
that's not my problem... I have already bypassed the resistor wire and am getting a 12v to the coil. My question is whether or not Flamethrower I or II coils are interchangeable? I have the Ignitor II already installed.... have a free flamethrower I coil
While I'm not familiar with the PII, other than understanding, the PI is considered more reliable. I'd think, as long as the coilmeets miniumvoltage output, use it.
I'm the other way around...pertronix I for distrib and flamethrower coil,,works ok,,with the 12 v by pass,,,,,have had isues in past with Pert II reliability and warranty stuff
