Default Question:76 hatchback

I am thinking of trading my truck for a 76 Ford Mustang Hatchback V6 2.8L 5 speed, the problem is its been sitting for 6 years and it was a good running car wen it was parked what all would have to be dun to get it back up and running and is the 2.8 a good motor?? any knowledge on this type of car and motor would be helpful.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Mustang II parts are very hard to come by.

Default RE: Question:76 hatchback

The Mustang II is a good car, my first Mustang was a 74 II with a 2.3 that got swapped to a 302 before the ink was dry on the transfer papers. They came withinline 4, V6 and V8 engines. The front suspension is compact and it hasstaggered rear shocks. The 2.8 V6 is a prtty sturdy little engine of German decent. I have seen them with autos and 4 speed trannys but no 5 speed. If there are a lot of IIs in the bone yards around you and you feel like playing with it, go for it.

The V8 swap for these is easy enough if you want to go that route.
