Default another insurance question

I am 22 years old with a driving perfect record and I was just curious why insurance on an older car like a 1970 mustang would be so much. I just did one of the quotes on progressive.com and they quoted me at 210 a month. I checked on a 2002 GT mustang and it was 120 a month. Why would an older mustang be so much more?

Lack of safety features, cost of resorationsince anything over 20 years old is generally no longer availble from the OEM, and overall lack of being up to par with federal insurance guidelines.

thats funny.... i have AAA's preium plan with my 1969.... and i have been in 2 accidents... well only one was my fault and my insurance went down when i got my 69 to about 120 a month.... try them... i know with AAA you can also insure the car for what you think its worth and the monthly is lower

Try one of the classic car insurers. Mine is insured for full replacement value (have the receipts to back up my claim of what I've put into it) and I paid $170ish for the year.

I believe with Hagerty you need to be 25 years old with one daily driver registered in your name, but there are other companies out there. Most classic car magazines have the ads.

I am 21 and my 69 coupe cost me $120 a year for full coverage. I am the primary driver and the car is claimed as being worth 12k. It is my second car that i have insured through them though. I have american family.
