Default Sound deadening, noise reduction

Does anyone here have a source for material that actually works to lower the noise inside the car that does not cost an arm and a leg. Its amazing just how much road noise these cars allowed. Thanks?

My son and I did the whole floor in his Maverick. Great price and it works very well.

peel n seal from homedepot or lowes...does the job, is cheaper than name brand sound dampeners. Used it in my son's 67 coupe and appears to work well against noise and heat...

I found thissite helpful when I was sound proofing my Corvette.

I used the Second Skin Damplifier stuff. It is a non-asphault based rubber deadener. I found that it helps a little. To really make a big improvement, you will need to go with some thicker foam, insulationor barrier products. The rubber backed foil stuff will help reduce the vibrations, but not inhibit much of the noise coming through the flooring.

Forgot to mention, the last time I checked, the Second Skin company has their own Forum and has a significant discount to the advertised prices. I missed out when I bought mine as I found out after the fact, but I think it was something in the 20-30% off range.

Looks like the same stuffas the peel and seal with foil backing and sticky asphalet like material... gonna be cheaper buying it at your local homedepot than a specialty shop....
