many many ways to go with this. For a tach, you could try to find a rally-pac, and put that on there. Your fuel gauge could not work for several reasons - I'd start by checking the fuel sending unit (under the car, front of gas tank). I would suggest not putting those (stupid) "pods" on your dash. IMHO, I think they look ricey, but, I guess that's my personal taste.
If you do figure out it's the gauge and not the wiring or sending unit, here's how you replace it:
Should be 6 screws on the face of the cluster that you need to remove; 3 on the top trim, one on the left, and two on the bottom (under the large chrome pods). Remove these, then cover the column with a thick cloth to protect it. You should be able to work the panel out enough (with some force) to get at the nut on the speedo gear holding it to the back of the gauge. Remove this and you should be able to pull the panel out enough to disconnect the wiring harness connectors, then the whole thing should come out of the dash.
Set the cluster on its face and remove all of the nuts holding the face to the gauge housing, then pull the housing away from the face gently. Be careful not to touch any of the gauge faces. Remove the two nuts and washers holding the fuel gauge to the housing and it should pop right out. Replace and repeat in reverse.
there are a couple options for the other gauges. If you don't have a console, there's a good spot under the radio to mount an aftermarket2 or 3 gauge panel. I've got a twin water temp/oil psi gauge mounted there on my 67fb, looks good.
For the tach you can mount an aftermarket deal to the column or install one into the dash where the clock would go. I've got an 80's Jeep CJ tach hacked into my clock hole and it looks great, but there's a company out of Australia now that makes tachs that are a direct bolt in. Check on ebay for one of these.
