Im looking for aa new 302 short block and then making the balance changes. anyone done this/looked into this? ford racing short block is selling for 1300. It looks to be a just a basic block with hypereutectic pistons. any thoughts?

Given it to do over again, I would have bought a crate short block and stuffed my own cam and heads on. Can't go wrong with a factory crate.

By the time you rebuild a shortblock, soup to nuts, you will be about even money as a crate.
Get the crate and be done with it.
