Default Looking for a Supercharger

Anybody have a line on a roots style supercharger? I like the Weiand and old style B&M. I have looked on e-bay but can't find anything yet for my 347.

+1, I like those as well, I was looking a possibly getting a S/C a while back and was surprised that B&M no longer makes blowers.... I guess I had been out of the game for too long...

But as far as anything constructive concerning finding one, I guess I don't have anything to offer.

I bet a S/C 347 will be a lot of fun.......

Depending on compression, you may not want a roots, especially on a 347. They make a crapload of heat and are WAY less efficient than a centri or a screw. 9psi on a centri will make more power than 9psi on a roots, and be less likely to detonate. Weiand makes good ones though, the 174 Powercharger is only a little taller than a high rise type manifold I think, simple and cheap(that's the advantage of roots, cost). You might want to look into a centrifugal though, Paxton, Vortech and Procharger all make good units. Also, I'm not aware of any intercoolers for carb'd roots unless you go with a big unit, and if you barely have traction now, a roots will garuntee you no traction at all. If your compression ratio is 9:1 or higher, I'd avoid a roots, you won't really be able to run enough boost for the cost to be worth it unless you run race fuel. Whereas a centrifugal you can run upwards of 15psi of boost with 9.5:1 compression with intercooling on premium pump fuel. And blow through carburetion works great for forced induction.

Like I said though for a roots, Weiand makes them under Holley

Here you guys, this is the Weiand one I was talking about. I was thinking about doing it, and if my compresion ratio were lower, prolly would, you can get the whole system brand new on Summit/Jegs for like $2,700

http://holley.com/types/Small%20Bloc...4%20Series.asp

I'll prolly go with an intercooled Procharger myself though

I've always wanted to use one of the Magnuson SuperChargers on top of a 351 W - imagine the torque!
