First things first. Is it your shifter? You can buy bushings to rebuild your old one. Or, you can buy a re-pop shifter that would be as tight as a factory new unit. You can also buy my barely used TCI streetfighter shifter for $100. It is cable operated. If it's your linkage or your trans that can be fixed also.
