Default Shock tower cap bolts

I cant find new bolts for the caps. The old ones are shot, but the only bolts I could find are galvanized and I dont think they are as strong cuz I broke one in half just tightening it. I have looked at Paddock, Year one, and Mustangs Plus and didnt find them. Anyone know where I can locate these.

I need the 6 that hold the cap to the shock tower, not the bolts that hold the shock in place. Thanks!

Try this, any old junkyards around you? Look for a Maverick or Comet. Same bolts.

You might try Lowe's, in my town they have a much better selection of fasteners than Home Depot, many of which are actually suitable for automotive use....

While I have not specifically seen these carriage bolts there, I suspect they may have some suitable bolts.

I thought I remembered seeing some of these on Mustangs Unlimited in the past, I did not find any today.

True Value and Ace aren't too bad either. Heck, I remember when Pep Boys used to have a whole isle with drawers full of good grade fasteners. But aren't those nuts the locking kind?

Yea, Pep Boys don't have sh*t for bolts now..... Autozone has a few quality bolts....

It is kind of dismal,,,,

Mustangs Unlimited has the right nuts, "starlock type", but no bolts..... ???

I have not been to a True Value or an Ace in some time. All of these are quite a way across town for me, there used to be a True Value close to my work, but the closed it down when Lowe's opened across the street.....

Try spending your life in a machine shop with a crib full of fasteners and big ol' catalogs. I really miss that part.

AMK products p/n F-311

"Shock Brackets (Fr) - Low HD crg bots, ext keps nuts" - 12 pcs. - $9

You can buy direct, but I think the minimum charge may get you. Try NPD's 2007 catalog, pg. 145. It looks like they have what you need.

There's a store in Amytiville, NY called HomePro Fastners. I've been to their showroom and all they have is automobile hardware (fender bolts, engine bolts). Even have polished stainless hardware. Pretty cheap too. Give them a call. You may need to measure the threads per inch in case they aren't familiar with a mustang shock tower bolt. 888-727-7262
