Default Need your opinion ...

So right now i am having a dilemma .. i am working on buying my first car of my own .

And its down to about 3 choices.

67-68 Mustang 302 less than probably around $3k

94+ Import car like an Integra or Acoord for about $1.5k and save a ton of money on gas.

or a 2001 Suzuki Gsx-r600 aka CrotchRocket that is really fast but fuel efficient for about $4k.

Lastly im only 16 going 17 in Nov.

And i work part time .

please no biased opinions .. because of course we are all mustang lovers>..

Well since you live in California, you don't need to worry about snow which would be the main worry if I were to get a croth rocket. Although a crotch rocket would save on gas, it's not really that useful as a daily driver considering you don't have much space to put things and you can really only carry one more person with you. With an important you end up being just like everybody else and don't really stand out, but you do save gas. As for a 67-68 Mustang with a 302, you are obviously going to stand out more, but you won't save on gas as much. The Mustang or the import would be more practical, as you can carry more people and more things in it.

If I were you I'd go for the Mustang, because it's never going to lose money and you'll get alot more attention. That's just my $.02.

I'd get an import. Buying gas for my 67fb sucks=/

You could always pick up an old Z car for cheap Then you get a cool older car and something mildly more economical all in one package.

if you buy the crotchrocket, there is a pretty good chance you wont see 18. No, I'm not joking. It doesnt matter how careful you are or how well you can ride, the odds are against you.

as much as i'd like to say you should get the mustang, if you are only working part time and dont have access to dadbank inc. then you cant afford one. IMO, better to get the elcheapo and start saving for the stang.

+1
This is all very good advice. Patience will allow you to build up your finances to a point where you will be able to afford the Mustang and all the associated costs. I would get a cheap, economical and reliable car (personally I think Honda is the way to go) and you will be glad you did in the long run. The crotchrocket is just a bad idea. If you ever want to drive a Mustang with your hands and feet, stay away from the crotchrocket.

If you cant handle the idea of driving the import, then get the Mustang but be prepared for the financial stress that will accompany it without the dadbank. If you have access to dadbank, then you should be shopping for the nicest 67-68 he will buy you!
