Default Pitman Arm ?

So my Pitman Arm is hitting my Header ,someone not from this forum suggested the I grind the Pitman Arm down an 8th to 1/4 inch to get the clearance . So what do you think?
Also I have already dimpled the header some and not sure how much more I should go.

Not a good idea. Single failure of the Pitman arm means that you have about, ummm, zero steering control. Failure of a header tube is mostly just noise telling you to hurry up and fix it. I'd cut and reweld the header tube instead.

Sure would be a lot easier (imo) to heat up the header with a torch and then smack it with a hammer to get the clearance you need than grinding down an integral part of my steering system.

Thanks for the input . I didn't think it was a good idea to grind something that was so important. I will try heating the header up and dimple it some more . Thank

If you mess with the headers, be careful not to kink them, you want the primaries to stay as round as possible

The primaries are the tubes of the header for each individual cylinder, the collector is the larger pipe that they converge in to.
