Default Car Cover for Winter

Alright, it's time I have to find a nice car cover to put on the mustang for the winter. Haven't had to do it before because this will be the first winter it's been restored though.

Couple problems though, it will have to be outside all winter (our garage has been converted to a meat locker for the season) and as a result up here in high altitude wyoming we will have temperatures around -30-40 degrees and hard blowing snow.

So from that I know I'm going to have to be looking at a nice expensive cover to protect it. What sort of covers would be appropriate for storing the mustang in these conditions for 4 or 5 months?

I store mine inside with a budge max cover I am not sure if it is good enough for what you need

With -30 temps you should park the car in the garage and use the driveway as a meat locker.

The last 2 may be worth a look, but with your temps it might be hard to find one to do whatyou want.

Yeah. I know my junior year of high school a couple years ago we were at minus 37 and still had school. We are at high altitude (7200+ feet) and in a valley with mountains on every side so cold and wind are a constant here during the winter.

Wow... I wonder if there is heated car covers...like an electric blanket? I have no idea if that would be good for a car or not. Since you live in Wyoming, I picture lots of land... If you have room, could you buy a small carport or something? From Costco or something.... Or would it be hard to get one that would hold the weight of the snow and force of the wind?

If your car has survived prior winters in that weather, I am sure it will make it okay. It seems like there should be good information out there available to you. Could you talk to other guys in your area who have had to work through this issue before? I bet with temperatures that low, a lot of people have to find some sort of solution, even for your typical daily driver cars.

Is that -30-40 an extreme low temp or is that common during winter in WY? I went to Yellowstone when I was a kid and it was incredible but that was probably 15-20 years ago. It was right after a big fire. The hot springs or geysers or whatever they are called, are like nothing I have ever seen before.

Check out this site: http://www.calcarcover.com/

They have a cover they call ExtremeWeave (http://www.calcarcover.com/how_to_select.aspx) scroll down to the bottom and read the description of it. I'd buy that and cover it with a heavy duty tarp.
