Default 4v header fit a 2v head?

Im 99.9% sure the 4v header has the same bolt pattern. im having a hard time finding 2v headers for a 351c but i find 4vs all the time. would it really make a diffrence if its a little bigger of hole but the bolts lined up on a shorty header? it would be alot cheaper if this would work on my 2v 351c

Headman makes a 2V header for your car. I bought a set a few years ago.

yes but its only for a c4 trans and i have a fmx. this is the problem. i cant find any fmx 351c 2v headers. so im trying now to find a shorty. i think sandersons the only place. but the pipes are 1 7/8 that sounds like a 4v shorty to me but they dont say.

The big tubes will kill any low end torque. It will run but not efficiently.
I'd cut and modify the Hedman 2V headers before using big tubes. I've done this to get around the fat AOD. It's easier with the engine and tranny sitting on the floor though.

so that little of a diffrence with the shortys will mess up my torque for sure? and what about sound? do the shortys even have that nice hollow header sound?

I'm running Sanderson 4V headers on my engine with CHI 2V heads. Check out your other post for a video. CHI says you can run 2V or 4V headers on their heads, but their exhaust port may be a bit different than the stock 2V heads.

the video doesnt work. send me the link. does it sound decent? i just have a stock 351 cleveland but i called sanderson headers and they said it fits right up perfect with the adapter snug against the block. its a shorty tho and 1 7/8 so i dont know if it will lose torque. how did yours handle? more torquey than the manifolds

Dead is right... they'll fit but they will not be as efficient as they could be. As far as why they won't be efficient, it's all about port match , cavitation and vaccuum. They'll work, but you won't like them any better than stock manifolds.

what about sound? theres got to be a company out there that makes a shorty 15/8 or smaller for a 2v 351c.
