Let me let you in on a little trick. Last time I redid a set of seats I used indutrial grade zip ties, The more expensive ones that are not suseptible to becoming brittle with age, it worked really well and was way easier.

make sure you get good ones of various sizes. I used a small knife to cut holes any place I wanted a zip tie then I installed them and sinched them up. worked really well and is still intact after 3 years.
