Default New timing seal in.. Buttoned up

I had no problems getting the new seal in,, only thing being that I did get a little coolant into the oil pan, which kinda scares me, but I dont think its enough to do any damage. The old seal was kinda damaged but it didnt look like itwould have been leaking like that.. Today, I will put the fan and pulleys back on then fill-er up with coolant and see what Ive got. I just hope the darn thing agrees with me this time,, Im tired of working on the motor. I need my car back on the road..

I did shoot gasoline half way accross my garage when I pulled the gas pump off.. I hit the lever and "gush/squirt".. That was pretty cool..

Change your oil to get the coolant out. Ethelyne Glycol and bearings don't get along with each other

Not only that, it makes a terrible mess of your oil system and creates a real nasty foam that's hard to remove. Change the oil and flush it (oil system) if you got a lot of coolant in the oil pan.

I might be a dumb ***,,,, but I don't think I would worry about 3 tablespoons of coolant in the oil..... Most of it will evaporate as soon as the engine gets hot the first time....

I have some experience with this in trucks, sometimes a seal on the wet sleeves will let go, and dump substantial amounts (sometimes gallons) of coolant into the crankcase, might be a day (several hundred miles)or so until it is detected, never lost a bearing to this.

A couple of summers ago I had one local truck that developed this problem, but we could not knock it down for repairs because of work load. Every morning we would pull the oil plug until the antifreeze stopped running out, put the plug back in and used it for the rest of the day.

We did this for about 3 months until we could overhaul, it didn't hurt it, and it ran to the last day....

If you are worried about it at all, pull the oil plug for a second and put it back, you may get some coolant or maybe not, either way you will be fine IMO.

OH wait,, the water will settle down on the bottom right?? I forgot about that.. I will just get another qt and see how much comes out... If any..

Im not too worried, but being a new engine I have to worry about everything.. I cant wait till the first 500 miles are done with and I can quit sweating every little thing.
