Default Rear sway bars?

If anyone has pictures of their rear sway bars, especially how it mounts, could you post them so I can compare? Thanks

Just put the leaf spring clamps on loosely with the Sway bar bolted to them loosely and kinda move it around till you find the best place to mount the subframe brackets, then mark them and drill. It's gonna vary from car to car when you consider exhaust pipe placement, the springs they're using etc. Just make sure that there's no interferance with parts(ie the sway bar mashing the exhaust pipe etc)

Here is an ADCO 1" mounted on the rear of my 1966. YMMV.

Also remember that you need ALL of the normalweight of the car on the rear suspension when buttoning things up. I had to move the jacking point durring my install to in front of the lower controll armbecause the engine was holding the rear up to far.

Thanks for the pics Blue. Mine is alittle different..the endlinks are on the leaf springs and the straight brackets are on the railing. It looks like its gonna be a sharp angle (bar at a 45* up to frame)and I just wanted to be sure.

I believe that is the factory setup. The leafspring plates on the OEM partshave the end link hole on them. Like Isaid when I installed mine I swore the were wronguntill I properly loaded the rear suspension.

Good luck.

Cool, thanks.

I got another question, Ill post it in here so I dont have to open another thread. Should I make sure my back tires are tracking straight or is it a moot point? How would u go about measuring that? I figured those little pegs on the springs would only need to be 1/4" off to screw it all up..

The axle housing has bolts that go through the leaf spring, the only way to really check rear tracking is to take it to an alignment shop and have them check and realign if necessary

+1 on that too. They should be able to throw the alignment heads on all 4 wheels. That should let you know right away.

BTW I thought you had a FORD ? Isn't dogtracking a GM problem...
