Dash paint

Getting ready to re-paint my dash on my 66. Im painting it black. Can anyone tell me what the original black paint is? Is the a certain type of shaker can i should use? All advise greatly appreciated.

just a black paint should work, there wasnt any special black interior colors i dont think. make sure you do even coats. Start with light coats, you can always add more of them, and help helps prevent the paint from running. if you want a dark color go with a gray primer, if you want a lighter black (if that makes sense) go with a white primer

There are several different pait colors for your dash. For black it is a semi-gloss lacquer # 946 ( highway classics). The parts houses have the correct shades, I just used a Black semi-gloss lacquer from ACE sinceI am redoing the entire interior of my car anyway.
