Default t5 or 4 speed

i bought this engine/tranny off of ebay and it was advertised as a 85 mustang302 with borg warner four speed. there is no id tag but here are the numbers i found on the sides of the tranny. 13-52-065-908, 13-52-066-919, kf287158. i already searched those numbers on google and one site said it was a t5 but i wanted more proof before i went and bought a shifter, and t5 install kit. thanks for any help!!

Did 85 Mustangs even come with 4-speeds? Post a pic of it and we can tell in one second.

That is definitely a T5 however if it is from an 85 than it is NOT world class unless it was changed out and a non WC T5 is not very strong. If it is not WC than it will use gear oil if it is WC than it needs to have ATF fluid in it. The numbers on the side of the tranny won't actually tell you anything because those are casting numbers for the case and even though similar to tag numbers not the same. The numbers you need should be on a tag, if the tag is gone contact Glen of http://www.rosehillperformanceparts.com/ He will be able to tell you how to tell the difference between a WC and non WC T5 with out the tag. Tell him Day sent you and he will take good care of you.

http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/ Use one of their T5 upgrade kits and it'll turn that tranny, even if it's a non WC, into a total beast
