Original 66 Interior Colors Combination
Hi, I can't find any information about the original interior red color distribution for the 1966 Mustang. If someone could help me I'll appreciate. My 66 has red interior but need some restoration; I only found the original interior color codes, for example, I found that one interior trim code was "Dark Red with Red, #25", but I don't know which part was red and which part was dark red.
The thing is, for a 66 original red interior, which was the correct color or combination of the next parts:
- Dash Pad: Was it red or dark red?
- Upholstery: Was it red or dark red?
- Interior and Floor carpets: Was it red or dark red?
- Console color: Was it red or dark red?
- Steering wheel: Was it red or dark red?
Which was the original combination? Maybe it was for example, the steering wheel and the dash pad on dark red, and the upholstery and carpets red....I don't know. If someone could help me on these.
Thanks,
Luis

Good luck Luis. I've had the same questions about my standard parchment interior. My exterior was nightmist blue and I got very lucky finding a piece of the original dashpad that was blue - again, pure luck. I'm speculating, but my limited investigations and hunches tell me that there is no "correct" color combination, but that any number of combinations might have been used.
My 66 has the pony interior. Parchment and dark red. The dash, carpet, rear seat quarter side panels, parcel tray, windlas, seatbelts and the metal part of the doors were all dark red. The rest was parchment, inculding the metal part of the dash, door panels, headliner and sun visors as well as the seats
