Default RRS rack and pinion??

Is anyone out there using an RRS rack and pinion setup? How do rack nad pinions affect turning radius on these cars in general - will it make it better or worse? I have a 66 I'm thinking of putting one on. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a RRS rack and pinion on my 65. Non power. Great addition to the car. Give it a little more turning circle, but not too much to make a difference. Advantages are the drive is great.

I didn't notice any increase or decrease in the turning radius of the fastback when I installed my Flaming River setup.

That RRS does look like a pretty sweet setup though.

Give it a whirl! What the hell, it's only money....

For that much dough, look into a Randall's Rack. Actually improves the steering over stock, and without the bumpsteer issues of FR's rack.

What do you mean by "bumpsteer issues"?

I have a I6 and from what I found from the RRS person I spoke to it comes with the inner tie rods needed and will have no affect on clearance with installation. It also comes with the necessary parts to use your current steering column with the unit. Anyone know if those Randalls Racks will work with an I6 without modification? The FR unit says you have to use V8 spindles.

why not just replace the manual components, opentracker makes a great rollerized manual steering setup.
