Default Dyno broke....

An hour before my appt. with EXTREME PERFORMANCE i was told there dyno broke. I guess its a good thing i chose 1 p.m. instead of 11 a.m.

Bad thing is that my carb and timing are still "off". Its getting worse and worse. First day i drove it, since it was shipped here(Indiana) from N.C, it drove like a charm and didnt skip a beat. Now, 2 days later, it misses out when i punch it andeverynow and then when im in 3rd gear. She will accelerate then let off...back and forth..back and forth while im goingapprox 40-50.My guess is that thefuel/air mixture screw needs adjusted in the 770 carb. Wowthis is becoming one BIG headache.[:'(] Any ideas guys?

Maybeits the elevation difference between Indiana and N.C? It hasnt been tuned since arriving here on the trailor. please help.

Change your gas. My 67 started surging and running like crap for me on Oct 01.

I think I either picked up the winter blend or it was that Wawa (where I don't usually fill up at) put too much Ethonal in their mix.

You know what, i bet thats what it is. After it arrived with a quarter tank of gas, it ran like a charm. As soon as i was on E and refilled her with 94 from a Speedway around here, its been running weird. Anyone know the best Premiuim fuel between Speedway, Marathon, B.P., Sunoco, etc? Or would an octane booster do the trick with any premium? Thanks "dodgestang"

Octane boosters have been found to actually reduce performance of fuels... I wouldn't put them in my car.

I would assume BP would be one of the better fuels available, but I don't know much beyond shell since thats all I fill up with.

Thanks JERM, i will try out them both. She has about 3/4s tank right now, would an octane booster "cure" the gas thats in there?Thats just what one of my friends told me, whats your guys opinion?

Theres a shell about 5 miles down the road. Should i use there regular Premium shell fuel or the V-POWER shell premium?

The quality of gas will change greatly with location, even for the same brand. There are a few hundred gas cocktails that are required based on where you live. Shell in Colorado may be good, but Shell in Nebraska may be total crap.

Might want to check the fuel filter also,Running one all the way down to E can pick up garbage from inside the tank.No telling how much crap is in the tank after 40+ years
