neeed mustang help
ok si juss barely got my 347 stroker put in my 65 mustang...a and ive had this leak problem... its been such a headache... it keeps leakin down the passenger side on the oil pan and starter and tranny.... ok.. so i replaced the valve cover gaskets .. its not leaking out the manifold...the guy who built the engine replaced the rear main seal.... and we put a new rubber oil one peice oil pan gasket... and stil it drips down on top of the starter an the side of the il pan.. so i take of the starter and i see a trail coming down the actual block.. where the heads connect to the block thats where the trail of oil starts down... its smal trail.. but i get a significant drippin when i have the car running.. .. so i took it to a car shop and they said its from the oil pan on the corner by the the starter and also out the cylinder head a bit... im so down.. i want to drive my car so bad.... i keep callin the engien guy but he can only make iout like once a month.. if i had a truck id pul this engine out...... CAN ANYONE HELP??? i need ur suggestions.. how the hell is it stil leakin out the oil pan? and cant only coolant come out the heads???...
Did you check the back of the intake manifold????
I think I have posted this as a possible source of your leak about 10 times over the past several weeks.....
Have you even checked this?? You never have mentioned doing so....
I am not trying to be a d*ick, but I really think you may find your problem there.
In order to find the leak, you will have to look where it is actually leaking, not where it is easy to look.
The oil will leak out of the intake, be captured by the block plate and migrate down the side and or back of your engine....
I may be wrong about this,,, but I may be right, the longer you spend finding other places that ain't leaking the more it looks like I am right.

i do believe i posted a check list of 5-6 places to look for the most common places leaks would come from.... if worse comes to worse take it back to the builder tell him to fix what he was supposed to do rght in the first place.

I apologize again for the demeanor of my previous post.... it was uncalled for. I guess I felt frusterated that you continue to have the same issue, but the truth of the matter is that your frusteration must be 1,000,000 times mine, and I failed to consider this prior to posting. I was out of line.... I will continue to think about this, if I come up with any ideas I will post right away.
jmd i didnt take no offense.. in fact i actually really respect what knowledgeble people like you guys tell me because you know way more than me...thanks guys... i didnt take any offense.. im really juss frustrated .. im 19 years old..this is my first car.. iluv ford... i bought this car with my part time job money..basically all of it.. because i go to school full time also... i know my way around cars and mechanics but not to the extent of full engine mechanics.i know quite a bit dont get me wrong... .. so u can imagine saving up almost a year of my money to pay for this stroker engine and rebuilding and buy everything else to go with a new engine.. and i havent even driven it... as son as i got it in the car... i see this leak.. the guy who built the endgine is a cool old guy who knows his stuff.. but the thing is he lives a bit far.. and to get him to come to see the car is mission... i wish i had a truck so i could juss pull the eninge out and take it back to him... the friend who helped me load the engine the first time has moved away... so i have to struggle little by little trying to find out wat the hell it is.... IHAVE TIGHTEND THE OIL PAN... IT HAS A BRAND NEW ONE RUBBER GASKET... THE REAR MAIN SEAL WAS CHANGED AGAIN EVEN THOUGH ITS A BRAND NEW ENGINE.. THE VALVE COVERS HAVE RUBBER GASKETS AND DONT LEAK.. THE MANIFOLD DOSNT LEAK I HAVE CHECKED IT ALL.. THE MAIN LEAK JUSS GO DOWN ON TOP OF THE STARTER AND THE SIDE OF THE STARTER.....
