So you want torque and an engine that sounds like it will devour anything within 20 ft? You need a 390 my friend.
what do you thinkabout a 460.........
460s are a beast but it comes with a price. Budget will be your worst enemy with any project car. I think the best advice that i can give you is to setup guidelines for your project;
1. What do you want from your car? (Drag car, daily driver, etc)
2. Budget ?
3. Time frame ?

Answer these questions and STICK to it. Its all too easy to get out of hand. GOOD LUCK!

More or less. I keep it garaged through the winter months and NEVER drive it in the rain.

I have a 69 mustang with a 390 bb. Holley intake/carb, mild cam, hooker headers, flow master exhaust, 9" rear with 3:89 trak lok, Mallory ignition system.....

i was searching on the internet and found rebuilt 460 long blocks for around $1500 is that just a good deal or should i not trust something like that?
i was also wondering what i would have to strengthen and "beef-up" to fit a 460 in my '68?

I will tell you this. If my 390 were 1/4 inch bigger it would have not fit in my 69. Im not saying its impossible because it not, but you would have to cut out alot of **** in the engine bay.

Its not a yes or no. Its saying that four posts up you have decided to stick with your 302, and now again your getting all hot for a 460.
