Headers are a great starting point on any motor.

Is petronix that kit to remove the points?

My dad has one of those kits and it always needs to be adjusted or the car wont start. I thought the point in getting rid of points was so that you wouldn't need to be constantly adjusting things.

More expensive, but yes IMO. Performance wise I don't thik it makes a difference on a stock or close to stock motor.

The 600 is fine for a stock set up. A mild build with a decent dual plane manifold can use up to a 750. Gears will really help, espicially with a posi. I have a CJ cam in mine that works well for me, I don't twist it too high. There are many other cam options out there as well as Aluminum heads. It depends on how far you want to go and how big your pocketbook is. FE's can be made to run good but it can get pricy.
