Default package tray question

I just bought a new package tray cover (fiber board or something like that.)
One side is smooth & one side is textured.
Either side can go up but which is factory correct?.
This is in a 1966 Coupe.

I just painted and installed my package tray today, even though I've had it for a few months now. I put the smooth side up, but I was just guessing that it was correct. I almost don't want to know the answer >_<

I bought a new tray a few months back and took it to an upolstry shop and had them cover it in vinyl to match the seats. I know it is not original like that, but it looks much better IMHO.

texture side up iswrong. It should besmooth side up. Texture side up would be a pain to clean anyway.

Not according to the piece I ordered, texture was up and all of the company logo's, stickers, etc. was on the smooth side.

Goin' have to go with texture side up on this one. My 67 coupe had package tray with texture up. Anyways, the texture prevents the packages from sliding around in the back window area. At least that would be my attempt at logic on this one....

New package tray I ordered was to be installed texture side up. I rear edge of them for '69 is turned up where it meets the rear windshield, so it couldn't really have been installed the other way.
