351w in a 65

i just bought a 351w for 700 for my 65 mustang. we havent installed it yet, but was wondering what kind of headers are needed for the engine in a 65 and where can i order them from?

I'm pretty sure you will be needing to do some banging on the shock towers to fit any header on it, but the best are the JBA shorties. They are a little expensive but they are specifically designed for this kind of fit, also they are probably the best shorties on the market.

I think Hedman also makes some 351W swap headers for the 65/66, though JBAs are of the highest quality (which you do pay for). Having done a 351W swap in a '65 with custom built headers, it is a tight squeeze, especially every time you go to swap plugs. I'd do the 347 stroker if I wanted the extra displacement.

No when he says shock towers he means SHOCK TOWERS..He wouldve said motor mounts..

It is not hard, per se, it is just a tight squeeze and things tend to cost more with the 351W than the 289/302. If you already have the 351W and/or you really want to do it, then go for it and have fun!

yes the 351 came complete with performer intake for $700, only thing i needare motor mounts. carb and swap headers. I think it was a good investment instead of stroking the 302.

yeah it will fit just its a tight fit the wrong headers will hit your shock towers and dont you need 66 motor mounts gothand.
