Default Differences in 69 & 70

I have both a 69 Coupe and a 70 Coupe. They both need a lot of work and I am interested in where to find exact differences. This way I can decide what one to work on and what one to rob parts from.

I know there are not many changes but I need to know what parts I can and can't swap.

well, obviously the headlights are diff, 69 has 4 and 70 has two and that crossbar thing. ive heard that the 70 windows are a bolt in or something and they dont have a leak problem like the 69's potentially do. i like the 69 more personally but i thnk you can swap the windows if you're really set on the year. its a toss up really, the only noticeable difference i know is of the headlights, the rest is under the skin for lack of a better term

Also the front fenders are different, the headlight buckets are different so they wont mate up right. When I bought my 70 I could never get the right fender to line up right, there was always a problem where the fender and bucket bolt together. When I took the car apart I found the problem ...a 69 fender with a 70 bucket crammed on it.
hope this helps

Jeff

PS as stated above the 69 windows glue into the track and the 70 bolts in.Somewhere on here there is a post on how to convert to the bolt in 70 windows.Ive heard lots of people complain about the windows coming unglued from the track. If you have a 69 and a 70 and choose to restore the 69 I would recomend putting the 70 windows in the 69.

The tail lights are different and the '69 has side scoops ( low on coupes and high on fastbacks ).

Side marker lights
Fenders
Headlights
Tailights
Door glass and mounting (As mentioned, easy fix)
Steering column ('69 ignition in dash, '70 on column)
Side scoops on '69 not on '70
If 3 spoke rimblow steering wheel, they are different
Bucket seats ('69 has latch in the middle of the side, '70s are down low next to the seat bottom).

But you should be able to change either one from fenders forward for the other.
BTW - Early '69s were glue in glass, late model '69s started the bolt in like the '70s
