I walked into my shop yesterday and my engine was leaking oil all over the floor. turns out the drain plug is stripped so i am gonna replace it and the oil pan gasket and just get it out of the way . What type of rtv should i coat the oil pan with then place the cork gaskets over? i picked up a vicktor oil pan gasket set black rtv? grey? or orange? thanks
Color doesn't matter. the type matters! Choose a RTV with the specific application in mind (read the package). Most folks use black color. the important thing is that all is clean and dry during assembly, wipe off the excess if you can.
