Default New engine on the way!

Finally, my new engine is supposed to be delivered this week

One question I have is, the guy said that since the valve cover he had looked kinda crappy, he was going to sandblast and paint it. But, I really doubt all of the sand is going to come out - sand seems to f ind every nook and cranny possible. I'm worried about the baffle at the top of the valve cover, by the PCV valve. What should I do? Just get a new one, or try to get the sand out?

If you have an air compressor try to blast the sand back out of everywhere.

I do indeed. How bad is it if a few peices of sand get in the oil?

I think you will be able to get it all out.. they bead blasted mine and dunked them.. You could even hit the covers with the water hose and try to spray out anything else then just let it dry and paint them..
