Im sorry to hear that your headers didnt give you a nice boost but mine added well over 20hp. IMO-Thats an abundant of power from any 1 mod. As to the comparison between the 40s and 44s, of course there is a difference, but he is talking about sound wise. Depending on the setup, i wouldnt see much of a difference. My 40s willdeaf'n you, i cant see ANY muffler being much louder.

....besides a glasspack setup.

+1 on the video with sound. I'm interested to see more examples of flowmasters because from what i've heard so far it has a tin sound to it and is almost cheesy.

long tubes, h pipe, and flowmasters FTW!!!! nothing is more fun than driving in a parking garage and hearing people yelling at eachother to try to overcome the noise of my exhaust. The drone kinda sucks on drives over a half hour though. Once i get my floor pans all fixed up they will be getting a thick coat of spectrum undercoating which should take the edge off.

i don't know where you are hearing they sound tinny and cheesy from, the only words that come to mind is deep and throaty to explain the sound. I think flowmasters sound much better on old cars than they do on newer ones.

If you're after sound only, Flowmasters are good. However, they do not flow well for a "performance" muffler...and will hold back any gains you'd see from a header swap. For performance, go with a flow through muffler design. They also sound a lot better...

well. they have a more hollow tone to them. more deep and more agressive. and they are maybe a tad quieter if any at all. does the h pipe or x pipe sound better? does it add that much change? headers should make it LOUDER right and probably a bit deeper and hollower also???
