I guess being a professional mechanic for the first 10 years of my adult life and the associated mechanical certifications (smog, tuneup electrical, front end, AC, and heavy engine repair) were a waste! Damn!!

sorry, i didn't notice that people had still been posting. It was a super busy week. I removed a plug yesterday and it looked textbook perfect. I then pulled off each wire (not while it was running) to see if any were loose. When i got to the back one on the drivers side it felt like it had popped off the plug. I put it back on and the car ran fine. I took it for a 20min test drive after letting it warm up for about 15 minutes and it still seems to run great. I am guessing the boot had popped off.

I have a new gas tank and sending unit, a new fuel pump, and the carb is not very old. So all that would be left original would be the lines, correct? Could this cause a fuel related problem? The carb is tight, anything else i should look for before i take off? I am not 100% sure it is fixed but i will be finding out today when i take it 70 miles north for winter storage.
