well I currently have the holley 4bbl carb, but with all the edelbrock components that come with the top end kit it is only wise to switch to an edelbrock 4bbl carb?

the current carb is a Holly 650 CFM carb. with Matching intake

That is a really nice car. You aren't doing a rebuild, you would just be replacing a couple top end parts and the cam. If you live near somebody who know how to do a cam swap they might help or you could get a shop to do it which shouldn't be that expensive.

I just noticed this, theres also an identical kit edelbrock 2098 about $200 cheaper (not that much difference when it comes to this), but seems to me that yields more power? I might be wrong on this

On the carb I'm not the best expert, I have been more of a fuel injection person. I would maybe post a new topic asking what would be the best carb for that kit and post a link to the kit on summit. Or ask if your current carb is sufficent.

I planned on getting a kit like that until I decided on the EFI swap. It makes it simple, you know everything is going to match up and get along. Also you have a good estimation on the hp and torque and a warranty on the parts.
