I wish I could turn my scoop into a shaker scoop, I've seen it done before and it looked pretty sweet. Maybe I'll just buy one of those shaker scoops and put it on my car when I have the money, it didn't look too bad on that '65 from Ford Ramair.

I dunno, at $2900 you could buy 5 repop shakers at $550 a piece and still be ahead of the game.
'enough said.

Fiberglass, cheaper, and, yes, you said it... REPOP. Its exactly like comparing new sheetmetal or ANY part repop to NOS original... even fordramair.com are fiberglass base assembly... but to each their own. Good luck finding an original at a swap meet for that.

Thats what mine is... off a 69 with the rare snorkel... so THAT one, sold for $2400 on ebay, which is generally known for being a bargain kind of place, being that it is bidding. I got mine at the Columbus Ohio All Ford Swap Meet.

And then THIS one has been beaten to ****, is rough and STILL sold quickly with the buy it now for $1500... prolly wouldve auctioned at 1900 or so.

But yeah.... what do I know.....
You have an original snorkel, good for you.
However, unless you are a collector itdoesn't mean a thingin terms of functionality whether your snorkel, or shaker for that matter, are original. The poster was looking for a cheap shaker, he was pointed in that direction. He even aked if he could modify a shaker from the newer Mach's so that tells me he wasn't interested in a date code correct piece for his car.
Lighten up.

I'd rather have an original as well. Better fit, form, and function with an OE steel piece than a fiberglass knockoff.

Those shakers are very cool, and yea an original one would be way better, but from my point of view, the seller of an original piece could just kiss my ***.... there ain't no way I would pay $2,000.00.... ain't happening,,, ever, even if I hit the Powerball.... to me it is a matter of principal

Just for balance, I will also say that the re pops are way overpriced as well, they wont get my money, although the kit mentioned for $500.00 is getting a little closer to being realistically priced....

For this kind of dough I might consider fabbing one up out of aluminum...... of course this item would bear very little resemblance to a stock piece....

I bought an original Ford template for $200 and have made several copies and sold them... (like the size of a massive poster) So if anyones looking for that template I can sell you a copy...
Pretty sure that's illegal. I don't think I'd be so open about that on a public forum.

Nope. 100% legal according to my lawyer. I purchased the rights to the original document and what I do with that from this point out, as long as I dont say it is Ford Motor Company licensed, is my business. Same as anyone that repops anything.

And FWIW... when I bought my shaker... repops were not yet being produced... my only opton was to go original...
