Default Drip edge corrosion

I am looking for ways to handle a series of small pit holes and pitting in the drip edge channel around both doors. The P/O (s) decided to fill the channel with silicone and bondo. Well for th last 3 weekends I have carefully removed all of this and blasted the area to bare metal. I covered the area with a epoxy primer while I decide what to do.
I have seen the drip egde removed, but I am not in favor of that look.
I dont want to put body filler in the area, not that I am against filler, but the area to be filled is kinda flimsy, and I feel like the filler will crack over time.
The only thing I can think of doing is to patch the area with lead.
I have worked with lead before...many years ago...using map gas and a 3lb. fishing weight.
I was also thinking of using flux free leaded solder.
Any other options worth considering?
I am all ears.

I had the same issue. I took a copper bar to use as a backing, held it underneath the drip edge, and used a MIG welder to build up and repair the rusted areas. It was a little tedious, but the results were great. My drip edges are rust free, and have solid steel where there once was nothing but rust. You'll need to blend the underside as well as the top, but it's well worth the work.

I like that technique ill try that on my fastback.
My 66 coupe i shaved them off and fabbed a pice that follows the weather strip trim closer.
It looks good so far still have some tuning in to do on it but has taken a long time to do.
and I did weld the top back to the brace 1st lol.
