Default More head questions

Alright, so I know the AFR 165cc heads are just about the best you can get for a 289...but...they're too expensive for a 15 year old

What other heads could I find that would significantly increase my power and not drain my wallet?

I read on another forum this guy said he could get rebuilt heads for $150 dollars?
I'm not looking for top of the line, just a set that'll out perform my stock 66 heads

Anyone have ideas?

sucker your dad into helping like my 16 yr old son did....maybe he'll be like me, and relive his childhood through you and help hot-rod it up.

I myself have been looking for a good set of cast iron GT40s but have had little luck even on ebay. Be careful when looking because you may end up getting GT0P heads and I have had little luck getting vintage mustang headers for GT40Ps. You may be able to get a good set of GT40s for under $500.

By that do you mean a set that have been rebuilt and all and are ready to be put on the 289? or a set that would need to have work done to them?

well, hard to say to be honest with you. just depends on what you can find. IF you find some that need work I say don't pay a cent over $300

Sounds good, thanks for the info

Anyone have any comparisons between the GT40's and AFR 165cc's power gain?
