Default 1968 Mustang Indicator Lights

My dad claims he had indicator lights on the hood of his 1968 coupe, or they could be seen from the hood or something? Did this ever come stock did a previous owner probably put them on or something?

I think some came with a hood with recesses towards the front where turn signal lights were mounted. I have them in my hood scoop on my 69...from the factory.

I have them in my 68 they came from the factory that way. It was one of those unique things that made me want the car even more. Your dad was right! [sm=laughat.gif]

67/68's had the option for the cool looking hood with the induction ducts facing the driver with turn signal indicator in them. Some of the hoods were actual functional. See the pic below. [sm=smiley20.gif]

I have a 68 coupe with the same Hood as 65_plus2. A very unique and nice looking hood. Factory hood on some 68 mustangs as far as i know.

This hood was simply an option in 1967 and '68. It's often incorrectly referred to as the "GT hood"... Incorrect because it had nothing to do with the GT package at all. Today, it's almost always called a "blinker hood." It's not uncommon at all.

I had a 67 with the hood and a 68 with out the hood. I went to a junk yard and got the "Blinker Hood" for my 68. It's a unique hood if you don't have one. I have seen new hoods and blinker parts for around $800 at Sacramento mustang parts. [sm=smiley20.gif]
