Default Open headers or flowmaster 40's

Were taking the 65 stang to get new exhaust parts and wanted to know if flowmaster 40s sound better than open headers. I hadit running straight pipesin my 302 and I personally did not think they sounded that loud. NowI have the 351 and the cam will be put in this saturday, but not before the exhaust.will the sound of open headers sound louder with the 351 from 302, or should i just get some flowmasters. My dad has a 66 with a 5.0 with flowmasters and cam and it sounds like a beast. Also how much performance does flowmaster add?

Go with the flowmasters! open headers sound bad at high rpms I have some glass packs on my 289 4v and I think they sound good loud! but smooth I did not like the sound of open headersI would go with a muffler of you'r likeing. hope this helps

Open headers if you like obnoxiously loud things and losing power

I have flows and they sound really nice, but Im currently running open headers. I love the sound at higher rpms, but you will lose power, trust me you can feel the diffrence. Im going back to flows.

You can always get electronic cut-outs and use them when you feel like screaming Thats what I plan on doing in the near future.

FLows are definitely a more comfortably sound but everyonce in awhile ill spend the time to tak emy exhaust off just to run around turn screaming. Its fun to sound like a race car.
