Default gano filter

any one using one of these gano radiator filters. i ordered one but now im thinking of what happens if it gets clogged, well i know what would happen, overheating. i want to find out if i have a lot of junk in my block so i thought id install one. i bought the copper one, read that the plastic ones had a problem of cracking. any one running one and have you been happy with the results.

na it doesnt get clogged. when the car is off all the crap from the block goes back down. but then again there isnt alot of stuff in my filter. i dont clean it out because i hate draining the radiator and there isnt alot worth cleaning. even if theres alot of residue stuck in there, when the water starts to flow it should push right through it.

i got mine from mustang country, a local shop. you can probably get them at any auto store place, they're not mustang specific. My bag is marked as "medium" for hoses measuring 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" inside diameter.

check online mustang stores, autoparts stores, or just search "Gano Filter"

Find out if the filter 'bypasses when full'. Usually a spring holds the medium to the inlet and if the pressure differential overcomes the spring (because the fluid can't pass easily through the filter) it wlll unseat and become pass through.

I have a brass type filter on my 69. Not sure if it is the gano but it is similar. Mine has two directional filters so the particles will not go back into the engine. I re-did my cooling system and hoses and at that time thought it was a good idea. I have only put about 100 miles on it since but have not checked it. I will get around to it sometime. My engine temp is very good now. I had a problem of it heating up (not overheating just heating up).
