Emblem Question
I have a 67 mustang C code. On the fender it has the running horse emblem. I noticed that year also had the running horse emblem with "289" above it on some cars. What is the difference...since my car also has the factory 289? The only thing I can think is it may be because mine came factory with 2bbl carb or something like that. The reason I ask is, I like the looks of having the 289 on the emblem but also like to keep my car original.

RE: Emblem Question
Interesting... The only reference I could find was on pg. 91 of the 1964 1/2 - 1973 Mustang Recognition Guide. It states "M-U-S-T-A-N-G lettering attaches to each fender. The tri-color bar, with V-8 models, has the engine size stamped into a bright section above the colors." There is no other mention of the emblems in the guide, and nothing that states you car would not have the engine size above the tri-colors unless it was originally a 6cyl. The only models that were different in the guide were the GT, GTA, and Shelby models which did not have the Mustang letters or the tri-colors at all.
I looked through the 1967 Illustrated Facts Book andfound no mention of a difference in the emblems at all.
At least that is all I could find.
