Default hooking up my starter

well im a bit confused with my starter instructions.... i had an early post talking about relocating my battery to the trunk and a few of you said that.. the left side of my solenoid goes to the battery and the right side goes to my starer... well my new starter says to run the left side to the starter and i have to run a second line from the starter to the right side of my solenoid... any thoughts... its one of those newer mini starters

The wiring should be the same as the original starter. Hooking it up to both sides of the solenoid would be . . bad.

Negative, sounds like he has a modern PMGR starter with a built-in solenoid.

Erm, the following has been edited, read carefully.

Follow the directions and you'll be fine. You should need to relocate the existing starter wire (thick gauge) to the left (battery +) side of the fender solenoid and run it to one of the terminals on the starter solenoid (smaller of the two cylinders). The directions should tell you which one; I can't recall atm. Then you'll need to run a 12ga or so wire from the right side of the fender solenoid to the other post on the starter solenoid. Rather than rewiring everything to remove the fender solenoid, this simply uses it to activate the starter solenoid.
